I walked the Bobolink Trail, just to the east of the East Boulder Recreation Center, this morning with my walking poles and had a wonderful time. Even with an uneven, icy, slushy path, I noticed that I walked smoothly and with an even pace. The poles easily supported me as I walked on the uneven snowy path, and I didn't feel nervous about slipping, or losing my footing. If I did slip a little bit, the sticks took the brunt of the pressure and I just kept on walking!! Getting my total body workout in the middle of a snow storm! I was happy, and so was my dog! I also took advantage of the ploughed concrete path and used the "Pendulum-Push" technique. My body was already warmed up from 40 minutes of walking and using the "Punch-Pull" technique, so as the path was open and clear, I straightened my arms, used my poles and just flew down the path. No extra effort and so much fun!!!
